Your privacy is important to David T. Kim, D.D.S. (“we,” “us,” “our,” or the “Practice”). This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you visit our website located at davidkimdental.com (the “Site”). By using the Site, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
1. Information We Do Not Collect
Our Site is purely informational. It does not include contact forms, user registration, login functionality, patient portals, e-commerce features, or any other mechanism for collecting personal information directly from visitors.
We do not collect, store, or process any of the following through the Site: your name, email address, phone number, mailing address, payment information, health or medical information, or any other personally identifiable information you have not voluntarily provided to us outside the Site (e.g., by calling our office).
2. Information Collected Automatically
When you visit the Site, certain non-personally identifiable information may be collected automatically through our analytics providers. This may include your IP address (anonymized where applicable), browser type and version, operating system, device type, referring URL, pages visited on the Site, time and date of your visit, and approximate geographic location (country or region level).
This information is collected solely to understand how visitors use the Site and to improve its content and performance. It is not used to identify individual visitors.
3. Analytics Services
We use the following third-party analytics services to monitor and analyze the use of our Site:
Plausible Analytics
Plausible is a privacy-focused, open-source analytics service. It does not use cookies, does not collect personal data, and does not track users across websites. All data is aggregated and cannot be used to identify individual visitors. Plausible is compliant with GDPR, CCPA, and PECR without requiring cookie consent banners.
Google Analytics
Google Analytics is a web analytics service provided by Google LLC. It uses cookies and similar technologies to collect and analyze information about the use of the Site, including pages visited, time spent on pages, and traffic sources. This information may be transmitted to and stored on Google's servers in the United States.
Google may use this data to evaluate your use of the Site, compile reports on website activity, and provide other services relating to website usage. Google's ability to use and share information collected by Google Analytics is governed by the Google Analytics Terms of Service and Google's Privacy Policy.
4. Cookies
Cookies are small text files placed on your device by websites you visit. Our use of cookies is limited to the following:
Plausible Analytics does not set any cookies on your device.
Google Analytics may set cookies (such as _ga and _ga_*) to distinguish unique users and throttle request rates. These cookies expire after a set period and are not used for advertising.
You can control or disable cookies through your browser settings. You may also opt out of Google Analytics tracking by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on. Disabling cookies will not affect the core functionality of the Site.
5. External Links and Third-Party Services
Our Site contains links to external services, including Google Maps for directions to our practice and telephone links that initiate calls via your device. When you click these links, you leave our Site and your interaction with the destination service is governed by that service's own privacy policy.
We are not responsible for the privacy practices, content, or security of any third-party websites or services. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any external service before providing them with your information.
6. How We Use Information
The limited, non-personally identifiable information collected through our analytics services is used solely to understand visitor traffic patterns, identify which pages are most visited, improve the content and user experience of the Site, and monitor the technical performance and availability of the Site.
We do not use any information collected through the Site for marketing, advertising, profiling, or any purpose other than those described above.
7. Data Sharing
We do not sell, rent, trade, or otherwise share any visitor data with third parties for their own marketing or commercial purposes.
Analytics data may be processed by our third-party analytics providers (Plausible and Google) as described in Section 3, solely for the purposes of providing analytics services to us.
We may disclose information if required to do so by law, court order, or governmental regulation, or if we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, protect your safety or the safety of others, investigate fraud, or respond to a government request.
8. Data Security
We take reasonable measures to protect the information associated with the Site. The Site is served over HTTPS to encrypt data in transit between your browser and our servers. However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee the absolute security of any information.
9. Children's Privacy
Our Site is not directed at children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at (718) 762-7006 and we will take steps to address the matter.
10. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have certain rights regarding your personal data under applicable privacy laws, such as the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) or the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
Since we do not directly collect personal information through the Site, most data-subject rights (such as access, correction, deletion, or portability) are not applicable. However, you can exercise control over analytics tracking by disabling cookies in your browser settings, installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Add-on, or using a privacy-focused browser or extension.
If you have questions or concerns about your privacy rights in connection with our Site, please contact us using the information in Section 13.
11. Do Not Track Signals
Some web browsers transmit “Do Not Track” (DNT) signals to websites. Plausible Analytics inherently respects user privacy regardless of DNT signals, as it does not track individual users. Google Analytics does not currently respond to DNT signals. You may use the Google Analytics Opt-out Add-on or adjust your browser settings to manage tracking preferences.
12. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We reserve the right to update or modify this Privacy Policy at any time. Any changes will be effective immediately upon posting the revised policy on this Site with an updated “Last Updated” date. Your continued use of the Site after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised Privacy Policy. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
